New Forest Christmas Fair 2018
(November 24th – 25th & December 1st – 2nd, 10am-4pm)
Although Exbury Gardens is closed from November 2018 – March 2019, Christmas events still run throughout weekends in November and December, including The New Forest Christmas Fair 2018, which is a traditional Christmas day out, full of festive activities, local produce and gifts.
And of course, you can take a wintry stroll through the famous and beautiful Exbury gardens or take a ride on the steam railway.
Christmas at Beaulieu
(On selected dates between 23rd November – 24th December)
At night, the Beaulieu estate is transformed into an illuminated trail from the grounds to the gardens. The mile-long walk has a stunning display of lights illuminating the tree-tops and leaving the hedges sparkling.
The Christmas at Beaulieu trail includes a scented fire garden in the ruins, an icicle walk, a tunnel of light canopy, singing trees, palace house panorama, seasonal food and gifts, topped off with Father Christmas greeting you from the rooftop.
Christmas carol singing
For a more traditional Christmas activity, you can go Christmas carol singing in the New Forest, which is sure to get you in the festive spirit. There are a few carol services to get involved in this Christmas in the New Forest, including the below carol services.
- Carols on the Green: A carol service at Milford-on-Sea with a Christmas lights switch-on, Father Christmas and late-night shopping.
- Festive Evening at Minstead Lodge: A charity fundraiser event with an evening of carol singing, Christmas stories from the past, and seasonal food.
Christmas workshops at Durlston Court Prep School
(November – January)
There are numerous Christmas workshops taking place in the run-up to Christmas. From Christmas door wreath making to Christmas table decorations and Christmas cake baking, there is something for everyone to get involved in.
Materials, ingredients and equipment are provided for each workshop event, food and refreshments are available and you get to take home your fantastic creation (as well as the knowledge of how to make it all over again if you want to).
